CALL FOR SEALED BIDS - Presidio of Monterey, Hilltop Ballfield Lighting Replacement (DPW-17027), due by 2 PM January 16, 2017

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Monterey invites sealed bids for furnishing the following: Presidio of Monterey, Hilltop Ballfield Lighting Replacement (DPW-17027).  In general, the work consists of, but is not limited to, removal and disposal/recycle of approximately 39 existing ballfield light fixtures and hardware, pull boxes and installation of 18 new LED light fixture assemblies, new homerun conductors, minor earthwork and necessary modification to the existing switchgear and connections for a complete in place and operational ballfield lighting. At the time of the bid opening, the successful Bidder must be legally entitled to perform contracts requiring a Class A or C-10 Electrical Contractor's license.

Update on the Southern Cal Fires and Mutual Aid Status - Updated Dec. 12, 2017

Here are some statistics on the current deployment for the Southern California firefight. California has a great mutual aid system which is being supplemented by help from other states and the federal government.

Monterey Fire Dept has 3 engines out with 4 personnel each and 1 person assigned to an overhead position (total of 13 personnel). It is anticipated that Monterey Fire personnel will be gone for another week. View Larger

12/12/2017: City of Monterey Introduces Pharmaceutical Drug Drop Off

The City of Monterey is proud to announce that it has implemented a pharmaceutical drug take back program that is now available to the public. The public may safely and anonymously dispose of unused/expired prescription or over-the-counter medication through the City's Prescription Drug Drop Box Program. No needles, syringes or liquids are accepted.

12/07/2017: Robbery Suspects

On November 29th, 2017 at 1:27am, two unidentified males committed an armed robbery of the Motel 6 located at 140 Kern St, Salinas. At 5:27am, a second robbery was committed at the 7-11 located at 320 Reservation Rd, Marina. At 6:52am, a third robbery was committed at the 76 gas station, 1600 Fremont Blvd, Seaside. Each robbery was committed by the same suspects. The Peninsula Regional Violence and Narcotics Team is looking for any information leading to the identity of the suspects in the attached photographs.
