Zoning Administration
In accordance with the City Code of Monterey the Planning Commission can delegate to the Plans & Public Works Department the authority to conduct public hearings and approve, conditionally approve, or disapprove certain minor permits and variances that meet criteria adopted by the Planning Commission by resolution. The Zoning Administrator acting for the Plans & Public Works Department schedules public hearings as needed.
Appeal of Zoning Administrator Decisions
Zoning Administrator decisions may be appealed to the Planning Commission within ten days on forms available here in Adobe PDF or in the PEEC Division during business hours.
Meeting Schedule
Zoning Administrator Meetings are held the first and third Thursdays of the month at 4:00 p.m. at the Council Chamber or the Monterey City Library. Meeting schedules and agendas and annotated agendas are available on I-SEARCH Monterey.
