Monterey Fire Awarded $50,000 Office of Traffic Safety Grant for New Emergency Response Equipment

The City of Monterey Fire Department received a $50,257 grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety to purchase new extrication equipment. The funding will pay for modern rescue tools to be placed on additional front-line engines. This will allow first responders to begin rescue measures as soon as possible without having to wait for tools to arrive from another engine which is critical for the care of those injured in crashes.
