A joint special meeting with City Council and Planning Commission is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on September 19, 2023. Residents can participate either in-person or online via Zoom. City staff will provide a report that includes a summary of public comments, as well as recommended staff changes related to the 2023-2031 Draft Housing Element, part of the Monterey 2031 General Plan update. Staff received and reviewed a total of 77 comments encompassing over 700 pages of material during the required 30-day public comment period. Staff also received public feedback at the Community Open House held at the Monterey Conference Center on August 7, 2023, for community members to learn about the content of the Draft Housing Element. In addition, 14 listening sessions, eight in-person pop-up outreach events, neighborhood outreach, and 3 public meetings over the past nine months were held throughout the community.
