On Saturday, June 10, 2023, at approximately 7:01 p.m., Monterey Police Department officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Laine regarding a sexual battery that had just occurred. A juvenile female had left her residence to check the family’s mailbox. When she was returning to her residence, a male suspect grabbed her by both arms, and began to grope the juvenile victim. At about this time, a family member exited the residence and the suspect fled on foot towards Pacific Grove. Monterey detectives were called to the scene and assisted with the on-going investigation.
