On February 12, 2023, at approximately 5:40 a.m., Monterey Police Officers were dispatched to Compagno's Market and Deli, located at 2000 Prescott Avenue, Monterey, regarding an assault with a deadly weapon. The suspect confronted a delivery driver at the business and swung a knife at the delivery driver several times. The delivery driver was uninjured.
