Join the Monterey and Seaside police departments on Tuesday, August 2 from 4 to 8:00 pm for National Night Out to promote police-community partnerships. Law enforcement will be gathering in front of Seaside City Hall to meet and spend time with neighbors. Equipment and vehicles will be on display with handouts for kids.
As part of the community pipeline safety initiative, PG&E will be removing four large mature Monterey cypress trees along the lakefront bordering Del Monte Avenue beginning at 8:30 am Monday, July 25, 2016. The first team to finish this year’s Great Pacific Race, Team Uniting Nations, have rowed themselves to a Guinness World Record by not only winning the race but by also becoming the fastest ever crew to row from Monterey, California to Honolulu, Hawaii in 39 days, 12 hours and 20 minutes breaking the existing record by more than 3 days.

City Council meetings are open public forums where the Council makes local laws, policies, and basic decisions relating to the City. The Monterey City Council meets on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 4 and 7 p.m. in the Council Chamber, 580 Pacific Street. Meetings are broadcast live on the Monterey Channel and streamed on the web.
