The Cooper Molera Adobe project has been nominated for a Route Fifty Navigator Award, honoring “innovation in best practices in state and local government.” Fifty finalists were named for their “demonstrated abilities to implement a great idea that improves public sector services and the communities they serve.” NEWS RELEASE IN PDF
The Lady Washington, the official tall ship of the State of Washington, will vist Monterey on November 8 - 26 and take part in a special re-enactment of the Bouchard’s attack on Monterey. This re-enactment will include a cannon duel with the Presidio, a beach landing of privateers, a lowering of the Spanish and raising of the Argentine flag, with dramatic presentations by actors portraying the principle characters, City official will also make presentations.

City Council Study Session
The City Council Study Session meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 4 p.m. in the Council Chamber, 580 Pacific Street. Meetings are broadcast live on the Monterey Channel and streamed on the web. Study session meetings are used to provide information to the City Council and answer their questions to clarify issues. Study Sessions provide a setting for informal discussions between staff, consultants, board, commission, committee members and the City Council regarding specific programs, projects or policies. Council does not take formal action on the items.
