City of Monterey Continues Storm Readiness - Working to Ensure Public Safety and Maintain Core Services

The Monterey Peninsula and region have been preparing for and responding to with a series of ‘atmospheric river’ storm systems rarely seen in our community’s history. The City of Monterey wants the community to know ‘all hands are on deck’ to continue to ensure public safety and maintain core city services as a second atmospheric river arrives to the Monterey Peninsula as part of this month’s “Pineapple Express.” The City of Monterey’s Fire, Police, Public Works, Parks, and Emergency Management teams are fully staffed around the clock. City teams continue in emergency preparedness and response mode with clear citywide situational analysis to effectively and quickly respond to impacts as they occur. The City of Monterey secured Verizon
mobile towers installed Saturday to support our Fire Department network at Fire Stations 11 (Downtown) and 13 (on Montecito Avenue). FULL NEWS RELEASE IN PDF
