City of Monterey Parks Division is pleased to host the 65th annual Cutting Day and Horticulture Faire, Saturday, March 19 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Friendly Plaza on the corner of Pacific and Jefferson streets. This popular event was cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic.  

“We are happy to bring this fun event back to the community,” said Park Operations Manager Louie Marcuzzo. "We appreciate the help of volunteer gardeners, the Kiwanis Club of Monterey volunteers, as well as local business partners who donated plants.”  

Exhibits include free tree seedlings, native plant information, propagation, gardening information, Monterey volunteer gardeners and landscaping with drought resistant plants.  Special thanks to the Kiwanis Club of Monterey, Monterey Volunteer Gardeners for their help, and to Drought Resistant Nursery and Del Rey Oaks Gardens for their donations.
