Monterey has 37 dedicated parks and open spaces, ranging from a full-scale playground at Dennis the Menace Park to the wide-open Window on the Bay, which provides beautiful views and open space looking out into Monterey Bay.

Apart from the flagship Dennis the Menace Park at El Estero Park Complex, three local parks have neighborhood community centers:
