  • May 5, 2023: Monterey Fire Department and Monterey Regional Airport to Start Service Contract Negotiations - At their May 3 meeting, the Monterey Regional Airport Board voted 4-0-1 to direct their staff to negotiate a contract for fire services with the City of Monterey Fire Department. The Monterey Fire Department has served the Monterey Regional Airport since 2014, and will continue for another three year contract when finalized in May. We want to thank all the neighbors and organizations who submitted letters and/or showed up and spoke on behalf of the City. We appreciate your help and support. The community will continue to be served well by our local firefighters!
