Update, Monday, November 20, 2017: The City learned today that the applicant, ExteNet Systems, Inc, has agreed to postpone the Planning Commission hearing date for the 13 applications to January 23, 2018. (This date is still subject to change.)
Originally posted Friday, November 17, 2017: Applications have been submitted to the City of Monterey by ExteNet for placement of small cell facilities in the Monterey Vista and Old Town Neighborhoods. The City of Monterey hosted a public outreach meeting on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 to bring together representatives from ExteNet Systems and the public to address the proposed installation of small cell tower technology in Monterey. On November 16, 2017 at approximately 2:12 p.m., the Monterey Police Department responded to an injury collision on Highway 68 between Olmsted Road and Canyon Del Rey Boulevard involving two vehicles.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Monterey invites sealed bids for furnishing the following: Montecito Park Entry and Seating Installation and Phase 2 Site Improvements Project. In general, the work consists of, but is not limited to, the demolition and construction of concrete curb, gutter, sidewalk, driveway crossing, lighted basketball court, new picnic tables and accessories, the installation of decomposed granite paving, sod placement, and an irrigation system. The work also consists of the removal and legal disposal of existing asphalt basketball court and sod materials.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Monterey invites sealed bids for furnishing the following: Ord Military Community-B7963 Parking Lot Lights Replacements. In general, the work consists of, but is not limited to, removal of seventeen existing parking lot light assembly and installing 4 dual head and 13 single head LED parking lot light assembly including dimming control and motion sensor. Also included is the installation of reinforced concrete foundation, pull boxes, earthwork and necessary tie-in for a complete in place operational parking lot lights in accordance with the Plans and Specifications.

10/30/2017: Monterey Community Band Winter Concert, December 3
The Monterey Community Band presents: “Music Makes the Holidays” Concert, conducted by Kristen Thompson. This concert features “Essay for Band” by Brent Heisinger, “Fifth Suite for Band” by Alfred Reed, “The Saint’s Hallelujah” arranged by Luther Henderson, “Sleigh Ride” by Leroy Anderson as well as other holiday tunes! The concert will be held at the Monterey Peninsula College Music Hall on Sunday, December 3 at 2:00 p.m. Admission is free. Come and enjoy an afternoon of musical entertainment for the whole family.
