03/29/2019: Stole Vehicle Arrest

In March of 2019, Monterey Peninsula law enforcement agencies observed an increase in vehicle thefts. The following agencies reported vehicle thefts in that month:
Marina Police Department – 7 vehicle thefts.
Seaside Police Department – 9 vehicle thefts.
Monterey Police Department – 6 vehicle thefts.
Pacific Grove Police Department- 2 vehicle thefts.
Carmel Police Department – 1 vehicle theft.

Monterey County Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice

The City of Monterey is in the process of updating its Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice (AI) which is required by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The City entered into a collaborative agreement for a Regional AI update with the County of Monterey (Urban County), City of Salinas, City of Seaside and the Housing Authority of the County of Monterey (HACM). 

The City is encouraging public review and comment of the Monterey County (Regional) AI.  The draft Monterey County (Regional) AI is now available (see attachments below) to review and comment.  The draft Monterey County (Regional) AI comment period ends on May 16, 2019.

03/18/2019: Summer Teen Volunteer Opportunities with Monterey Recreation

Are you interested in gaining job skills, getting an introduction to customer service whole working with children in our summer recreation programs? Teen volunteer positions are available including Camp “Lots-O-Tots”, Playground and Day Camp Programs or Community Center programs. Teens must be between 13-17 years of age and complete an orientation/training process which includes fingerprinting. Volunteer application deadline is Friday, April 19, 2019. Space is limited! Volunteers must be willing to work a majority of the summer. Teen Volunteer placement is based on program needs and requests for placement are not guaranteed.
