WHO: City of Monterey Vice-Mayor Dan Albert, City Manager Hans Uslar, and Monterey Conference Center General Manager Doug Phillips will host a symbolic “flipping of the switch” to celebrate the activation of the new solar panels. City of Monterey Engineers, and the Solar Contractor, Solex - Applied Solar Energy of Pacific Grove, will be available to answer questions.

WHY: The Monterey Conference Center is one-step closer to being rated a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified facility, aiming toward Platinum certification. A Platinum LEED certification is the highest rating obtainable by the U.S. Green Building Council for energy efficiency. The City of Monterey and the Monterey Conference Center are focused on reducing our carbon footprint and committed to sustainability.
