NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Monterey invites sealed bids for furnishing the following:  Pine Street 800 Block Storm Drainage Improvements, Hawthorne/Irving Bulbouts, Hawthorne/McClellan Bulbouts.  In general, the work consists of, but is not limited to, construction of new storm drain inlets at 899 Pine, 1003 David, and 999 Irving; replacing drain inlets at 835, 856, and 857 Pine, 805 Oak and 1021 Irving; retrofitting curb ramps at Irving/Oak; and construction of curb ramps and bulb-outs at Hawthorne/Irving and Hawthorne/McClellan.  The work shall include, but not be limited to, implementation of temporary water pollution controls and temporary traffic controls, construction staking, saw cutting and demolition, and construction of storm drain inlets, storm drain manhole, curb, gutter, sidewalk, curb ramps, and HMA paving.

Any person in doubt as to the true meaning of any part of the specifications, or who finds omissions therein, may submit to the issuing department contact, a written request for an interpretation or correction thereof.  In order to respond to such questions and amend specifications as necessary, the City may extend the bid opening date as deemed necessary.  A 10% bid bond is required with this bid proposal.

A non-mandatory pre-bid conference is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on January 8, 2020 at the Engineering Division Office, City Hall, 580 Pacific Street, Room 7, in Monterey, CA.  This conference will allow bidders to review and inspect project conditions.

Bids shall be delivered to the office of the City Clerk, attention Finance Director, 580 Pacific St., Room 6, City of Monterey, CA 93940 no later than the hour of 2:00 p.m. on the 28th day of January, 2020 at which hour and date they will be opened and examined.  A report will be forwarded to the City Council in the Council Chambers of the City Hall to wit, Few Memorial Hall of Records, and the Council may award the bid, reserving the right, however to reject any and all such bids.
