CITY OF MONTEREY PUBLIC NOTICE CALL FOR SEALED BIDS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Monterey invites sealed bids for furnishing the following: Citywide Road Surface Repair Project, Phase I. In general, the work consists of, but is not limited to, pavement spot repair of approximately 350,000 SF, crack sealing, placing of approximately 215,000 SF of chip seal, 815,000 SF of Type II slurry seal, 460,000 SF of Type III slurry seal, associated striping removal and replacement, refreshing of existing painted street markings, traffic control, and installation of necessary environmental pollution prevention requirements on various streets in the City of Monterey and Ord Military Community.
Copies of the specifications and conditions governing the submission of the sealed bids describing the above project may be obtained at https://monterey.org/Businesses/Bids-and-RFPs. Any person in doubt as to the true meaning of any part of the specifications, or who finds omissions therein, may submit to the issuing department contact, a written request for an interpretation or correction thereof. In order to respond to such questions and amend specifications as necessary, the City may extend the bid opening date as deemed necessary. A 10% bid bond is required with this bid proposal.
A non-mandatory pre-bid conference is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on June 5, 2019 at 601 Wave Street, Suite 100, in Monterey, CA. This conference will allow bidders to review and inspect project conditions.
Bids shall be delivered to the office of the City Clerk, attention Finance Director, 580 Pacific St., Room 6, City of Monterey, CA 93940 no later than the hour of 2:00 p.m. on the 25th day of June, 2019 at which hour and date they will be opened and examined. A report will be forwarded to the City Council in the Council Chambers of the City Hall to wit, Few Memorial Hall of Records, and the Council may award the bid, reserving the right, however to reject any and all such bids.
