Volunteen Opportunities
Book Stack Attendant
The Monterey Public Library
needs book stack attendants! The hours are flexible but a six month commitment is desired.
Sports Camp
Volunteer with
the Monterey Sports
Center's Sports Camp during school breaks, for two weeks in October and December.
Also, Youth Indoor Soccer starts in
December.
Cheerleading
Camp
Cheerleading
Camp needs help for one week in December.
After School
Playground Program
Like working
with kids? The After School Playground Program has volunteer positions available!
The program runs 2:15 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. during weekdays. Sites for the program are
Hilltop Park Center and Casanova Oak Knoll Park Center.
Junior Lifeguards
The
Monterey Sports Center
Junior Lifeguards are still needed with the aquatics program on Mondays
and Wednesdays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 4pm until 7pm or Saturdays.
Must commit to an entire 4 week class session.
Special Events Volunteer
The Monterey Youth Center needs help with special events. You will be
able to work with the staff on a variety of projects, for example teen
dances and Kid’s Night Out
Office Assistant
The Volunteer Program
– Volunteens needed after school to help with data entry, desktop
publishing, and various clerical duties.
CERT
(Community Emergency Response Team)
Know what to do in an emergency by taking the
Community Emergency
Response Team (CERT)
course in disaster preparedness. Courses are held every three
months, and are open to teens 13 years and older.
Sea Lion Watch
If you're at least 16 years old and like animals,
you may be interested in Sea Lion Watch. These
volunteers patrol the docks and 'shoo' sea lions
away, ensuring safety for both humans and animals at
the harbor. Weekend shifts are available.
