Local Landmark Trees Recommendation to Designate City
Owned Trees
Within the
City's tree ordinance, there are currently
15 trees that are designated "Local Landmark Trees", which means they are
trees of such unusual size, prominence or health that they are of
significant value to the community. After field review and careful consideration the
Architectural Review
Committee recommends the following City owned trees for designation as
Local Landmark Trees. Click on the photos to

Note: More on the Moon Tree, #5 -
It is so named
because it is one of only a handful of seeds that were taken to the moon on
Apollo 14 back in 1971 and then later germinated in California. We were one
of only about 7 cities to get one of the trees.
