The Monterey City Council met to develop a
shared vision for the future of Monterey in
March of 2007 which includes "good stewardship
of the natural environment". (To read the full

In response to that
mission directive as well as other pressing
desires for climate protection, City staff has
been involved in a variety of efforts to alter
city operations and strategies to be more
environmentally friendly.
