   FREE Composting Workshops

The Monterey Regional Waste Management District offers composting workshops to its district residents so they can learn how to use their own yard trimmings and kitchen scraps to make compost at home.

Each workshop is led by experienced gardeners and a Master Composter.

You can learn how to successfully mix grass clippings, leaves, yard trimmings and kitchen scraps so that they will break down into a dark, nutrient rich soil amendment called compost. You can also learn more about other recycling alternatives and why the district promotes home composting.

The Next Classes will be held:

Saturday, November 14th, 10:00 a.m.

at the Monterey Regional Waste Management District
14201 Del Monte Blvd, Marina, CA

The Compost Workshops will help you learn:

The basics of composting yard waste & kitchen waste using both commercially made compost bins* and handmade designs.

Vermicomposting (composting with worms ) will be introduced. It’s perfect for those with a small or no yard who generate no yard waste, but wish to recycle food waste.

The workshop will provide:

Information on basic how-toss, trouble shooting and an opportunity to see working compost bins.

Opportunities and information about how to purchase home composting bins.

For more information or to find the most current dates for the Composting Courses visit the MRWMD website or call
