The Monterey Police Department announced today that the suspect arrested in Seattle on alleged sexual assault charges in Marina had ties to Monterey. LAMARE COLE, age 23, was arrested on April 7, 2015, for an incident with a 5-year-old female that allegedly occurred several years ago.

At the neighborhood playgrounds, Recreation leaders will entertain children with games, arts and crafts projects, nature activities and each week will feature a unique special event or excursion. Children attending Whispering Pines Day Camp and Camp Quien Sabe resident camp will learn about nature, how to cook outdoors, play games, folk dance, sing, hike and create nature crafts.

The City of Monterey, Colton Hall Museum and Cultural Arts Commission, and the Monterey Conference Center are pleased to announce the current Alvarado Gallery exhibits: "Big Sur International Marathon – 30 Years –Monterey in Motion" 30 years of photography by various Big Sur International Marathon photographers. Please join us for an exhibit opening on Friday, April 17, 2015 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The exhibit will be on display from April 17 through May 10, 2015.
