On May 8,2017 at 6:37 PM, Monterey Police Officers responded to a report of an armed robbery in the 2400 block of North Fremont Street. The suspect entered the business concealing his identity with a ski mask and demanded money while brandishing a knife. The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of money and fled the business in a silver vehicle. There were no injuries reported.
Business owners can now apply for their business license using the City of Monterey’s new Online Business License Application. This option will help streamline the process of applying and submitting applications to the Revenue Office . The online application is convenient, the process is easy, and available any time.
The City of Monterey is accepting proposals for development projects requesting a water allocation. Proposals are due no later than Friday, July 14, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. to the Planning Office - 580 Pacific Street, Monterey, CA 93940. Proposals must meet all requirements listed in the Request for Proposals. On May 2, 2017 at 5:33 PM, Monterey Police Officers responded to a report of an assault with a caustic chemical at 2407 North Fremont.
City Council Study Session
The City Council Study Session meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 4 p.m. in the Council Chamber, 580 Pacific Street. Meetings are broadcast live on the Monterey Channel and streamed on the web.
STUDY SESSION meetings are used to provide information to the City Council and answer their questions to clarify issues. Study Sessions provide a setting for informal discussions between staff, consultants, board, commission, committee members and the City Council regarding specific programs, projects or policies. Council does not take formal action on the items.
