Friends of the Library Estate Book Sale

The Friends of the Monterey Public Library will hold their Estate Book Sale on Sunday, December 6, from 10 a.m. - 4 pm., in the Library Community Room.  The sale includes over 100 collector's editions, plus a wide array of beautifully-illustrated coffee table books in pristine condition, just in time for your holiday shopping.

Among the books offered are almost 50 individual Franklin Library volumes of beautifully-bound classics by Plato, Homer, Virgil, Moliere, Shakespeare, Voltaire and modern works by Hemingway, Tolstoy, Flaubert, Henry James and Mark Twain. The sale includes enduring stories: David Copperfield, Robinson Crusoe, Vanity Fair, Wuthering Heights and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. There is a complete The Library of the Presidents 64-volume set including Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, still unwrapped.  There are 60 volumes of The Great Books of the Western World, the complete 28 volume set of The Civil War from Time-Life Books and many other valuable collector's editions. These books are prices to sell at 20% below retail and you pay no sales tax.  These books make great gifts and the Friends of the Library will even gift wrap them for you at no charge.
