| You can choose from a wide variety of audiobooks on CD, cassette, and Playaway, music CDs, DVDs, and VHS videocassettes for all ages. Search the catalog for titles, authors, composers, performers, subjects, etc. or browse lists of DVDs and videos, audiobooks, or music CDs. | The Library has joined with the City of Monterey Museum and Cultural Arts Division and the Monterey History and Art Association to provide convenient access Monterey-area history collections. When you search for local history information in the Library Catalog, you may find helpful titles from Colton Hall Museum and Mayo Hayes O'Donnell Library. |

| Audiobooks and text e-books are available to download to your computer and mobile device from the Northern California Digital Library. Library databases include the full-text of thousands of magazines, newspapers, and reference books. | The Library subscribes to more that 250 magazines and newspapers. Magazines are displayed in the Quiet Study Area, TeenZone, Youth area, and on the Bookmobile. Newspapers are under the windows across from the adult display. Older magazines and newspapers may be available in storage or on microfilm. Web subscriptions to articles from thousands of magazines and newspapers are also available in the Library and at home. |

| Local History | Youth Services Collections |
| The California History Room contains a unique collection of books, selected magazine and newspaper articles, historical newspapers, maps, government documents, photographs and archives relating to the City of Monterey and the Monterey Peninsula. Read an explanation of local history catalog locations. For more information contact Archivist Dennis Copeland (831.646.3741). | Youth Services collections serve babies to high school students. Board books, audiobooks, DVDs, paperbacks, and magazines are available along with picture books, fiction and nonfiction books. Parenting titles are available in the Family Collection, and there are a limited number of adult materials about using children's literature and practical curriculum in the Youth collection. |
