GIS Maps and Data

The city uses Geographic Information System (GIS) software to provide monitoring and analysis tools for spatial data. Spatial data refers to any information that can be located on a map. City spatial data include addresses, fire hydrants, police beats, Neighborhood Improvement Program (NIP) areas, bike routes, cemetery plots, and much more.

Property Review
Search for a property in the City of Monterey using a parcel number, address, place name, or clicking on the map. Returned results include jurisdiction information (neighborhood, police beat, etc.), zoning information, and a map.

CIP/NCIP/Engineering Map Application
View locations of stormwater and sewer lines, watershed zones, and other engineering-related data. Turn layers on and off, search by address or parcel, and for some layers, click on a feature to see a pop-up with additional attribute data.


Search El Encinal Cemetery
Use the El Encinal Cemetery application to find cemetery markers by last name, year born, or year deceased. View a map of marker locations and photos of markers.

Downloadable Maps and Data
View, print, or download maps or GIS data. 

See if you have a backwater valve on your property
Use the Property Review application, above. Click on Address to open the pop-up, enter the address information, then check the box under the heading BACKWATER VALVE AND SEWER LATERAL.
