The Monterey Police Department's animal control services provide for the health and safety of citizens and animals. MPD enforces animal-related laws to ensure the proper care and treatment of animals and promote responsible pet ownership. Responsible pet owners need to know that along with the obligation to properly feed, shelter, and care for a pet, there are laws (ordinances) to protect the animal, the pet owner, and the community.
Please call Police dispatch for any wild or domestic animal issues- 831.646.3914.
