Environmental Programs

The City of Monterey Environmental Programs is focused on providing sustainable lifestyle tips & resources to promote eco-living in your everyday lives, whether at home, work or play.

Personal Action Pledge

The City of Monterey is committed to promoting a sustainable future by conserving water, reusing, reducing and recycling solid waste, building "Green" buildings and many other programs. To achieve success, we need all members of the community to play a role. In order for the City of Monterey to reach its GHG (greenhouse gas emissions) reduction target under the Mayors Climate Protection Agreement, all of us need to do our part. So, by taking the Personal Climate Action Pledge, we’re asking you to make some personal commitments to behave in a green way by saving water, conserving energy, and reducing, reusing, and recycling waste.
