Children will be able to create cool and fun art projects from sand, stickers, stamps, masks, and much more. Our popular edible art stand will give kids the chance to decorate their very own cupcake or make candy jewelry and sandy candy art. A great opportunity for children to be creative, imaginative, and make gifts for themselves and others. Admission is free!

04/20/2015: Division Chief Roth Completes International Professional Designation Process

Division Chief Stewart Roth of the Monterey Fire Department has successfully completed the process that awards him the professional designation of "Chief Training Officer" (CTO). The Commission on Professional Credentialing (CPC) met on February 10, 2015, to officially confer the designation upon Chief Roth. Chief Roth is one of only 63 CTOs worldwide.

The Monterey Police Department announced today that the suspect arrested in Seattle on alleged sexual assault charges in Marina had ties to Monterey. LAMARE COLE, age 23, was arrested on April 7, 2015, for an incident with a 5-year-old female that allegedly occurred several years ago.

It’s time to register for Summer and Fall programs with City of Monterey Recreation! A wide variety of Summer/Fall programs are planned for all members of the family. At the neighborhood playgrounds, Recreation leaders will entertain children with games, arts and crafts projects, nature activities and each week will feature a unique special event or excursion. Children attending Whispering Pines Day Camp and Camp Quien Sabe resident camp will learn about nature, how to cook outdoors, play games, folk dance, sing, hike and create nature crafts.
