The Monterey Fireman’s Association, a nonprofit organization comprised of members of Monterey Fire Department, is now accepting donations of unwrapped NEW toys for its annual Toy Drive to assist families in need.

Donations will be accepted in marked barrels at all five fire station locations:
Fire Station 1 – 600 Pacific Street, Monterey (corner of Pacific & Madison Streets)
Fire Station 2 – 582 Hawthorne Street, Monterey
Fire Station 3 – 401 Dela Vina Street, Monterey
Fire Station 4 – 600 Pine Avenue, Pacific Grove
Fire Station 5 – 6th & San Carlos Streets, Carmel-by-the-Sea

In light of the tragic fire at a local pet grooming and boarding facility, the Monterey Fire Department encourages all pet care facilities in the communities it serves to assess their fire and smoke alarm systems and fire suppression capabilities. Although these systems may not be required in older buildings, there are inexpensive smoke and fire detectors that can be installed in key areas of a building or home.
