City Council Meeting

City Council meetings are open public forums where the Council makes local laws, policies, and basic decisions relating to the City. The Monterey City Council meets on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 4 and 7 p.m. in the Council Chamber, 580 Pacific Street. Meetings are broadcast live on the Monterey Channel and streamed on the web.

MAP OF ALL PROJECTS
  • MEASURE P STREETS: Citywide Street Resurfacing/Slurry Phase 5 - The slurry resurfacing portion of work (this phase creates the most impact) is scheduled for October 6 through October 20 for all areas shown on the map. Work continues to get the streets ready for the slurry. Next week this phase of work will finish in the Oak Grove neighborhood. MAP OF STREETS - SEE SPECIAL NOTICE FOR MORE DETAILS
  • MEASURE P: ADA Ramp and Street Reconstruction Phase 4 - Pacific Street Exit from Lighthouse Avenue closed - SEE NEWS RELEASE FOR DETAILS This work also closes Artillery Street. Drivers will need to use Bolio Road.
    - El Dorado Street between Major Sherman Road and Alta Mesa. Paving work is completed; median work still to complete.
    - Littlefield Road work scheduled Mon. through Thu. - (Measure P)
  • Lower Presidio Historic Park Accessible Walkway up to the Sloat Monument (NIP) - estimated completion date is Nov. 6.
  • Cal Am Monterey Pipeline Project (Non-City Project) - also see www.watersupplyproject.org/
    Crews will be back at the intersection of Pacific and Madison in downtown. Night-work at this intersection -- between the hours of 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. -- is expected to begin on Sunday, October 1st. A second crew will continue pipeline construction in New Monterey on Spencer Street.

  1. North Fremont Bike and Pedestrian Access and Safety Improvement Project - bidding takes place late fall 2017 - learn more about this project: monterey.org/NFremontBikePed and sign up for email updates.
  2. MEASURE P: ADA Ramp and Street Reconstruction Phase 5 - scheduled to begin in October.
  3. Wharf II Pile Replacement & Repair - Base job completed. Crews will return in late September to complete additional work.(CIP)
  4. MEASURE P STORM DRAINS: Citywide Storm Drain Repairs Phase 3 - Soledad Drive at Soledad Place - potential road closure at times - work scheduled to begin in Oct.
