On Saturday, December 3, 2016, at approximately 1:21 am, the Monterey Police Department (MPD) responded to the Blue Fin Café & Billiards, 685 Cannery Row in Monterey on the report of a stabbing. MPD arrived and located one individual with a stab wound at Cannery Row and Prescott. He was transported to a Medical Trauma Center for treatment.
The Monterey Fireman’s Association, a nonprofit organization comprised of members of Monterey Fire Department, is now accepting donations of unwrapped NEW toys for its annual Toy Drive to assist families in need.

On Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at approximately 1:41 am, the Monterey Police Department (MPD) responded to the 600 block of Wave Street in Monterey on the report of gunshots being fired. MPD arrived and located one victim at the entrance to the Cannery Row Parking Garage, located in the 600 block of Wave Street.
On Monday November 21, 2016, at approximately 4:07 p.m., Monterey Police Officers responded to the 300 block of Glenwood Circle in Monterey on a request from neighbors to check on the welfare of an individual who had not been seen recently. A first floor apartment was flooded with water, which had originated in the second floor apartment where the individual lived.
Fifteen employees graduated as City of Monterey ambassadors this week, the third class of graduates since 2013. Learning about Monterey helps employees provide excellent customer service to the community and is the impetus for creating this important program.
